When did you start shaving your head, and why?

The first time, it was more or less on impulse. It was roughly May of 1997; the mother of a friend of mine had gifted me with a set of hair clippers (I'm not sure why; it may have been a subtle hint, as my hair was roughly shoulder-length then.) At any rate, I had a moment of mad scientist curiosity: "Suppose I don't use any of the guards- what then, eh, Pinkie?"

One hopes my friend's mother liked my hair better this way...

Where did you grow up, and how did you end up in New York?

I grew up in Potsdam, a small town in rural northern New York just this side of the Canadian border. (I Literally learned to swim in the St. Lawrence river.) I went to college in White Plains; to me, New York was always the place one went to have adventures on the weekends... so, after college, there was little doubt about where I'd wind up.
