I'm here. The sun was rising as I left the airport, and I could swear I heard the strains of a Howard Shore score in the background. Slightly less exaltedly, I now have to bop around downtown Auckland- on 36 hours of no sleep- until 1 PM (it's about 7 AM now), when I can check in... but hell, that's part of the adventure.
I'm here.
I'm here.

Date: 2009-04-05 08:32 pm (UTC)A downtown street called High Street, which runs parallel to Queen Street, has some funky shoppage/cafes.
The Auckland Public Library, right downtown near "Aotea Square", is a great place to just chill out and not spend money, with local media/magazines/a decent cafe.
Viaduct Basin is OK to have a look around, but most of the food is expensive and blah.
Hope the weather's nice!
