The High Line park is now open; it's a park running along the old elevated train tracks along Tenth Avenue, from the Meatpacking District up toward the 30s. Lovely layout- and also, there are sections where they allow weeds to grow up amidst the old tracks, which give a nice post-apocalyptic buzz. Well worth checking out.

Sadly, it seems (according to my NYC source) that the old weeds will have to go eventually; those are the sections which are not "done" yet for the most part. In order to check the structural integrity of the thing, they have to rip out *all* the old stuff (although I hear they may have salvaged a few trees).
