For one brain-frying moment, I thought that this mock intro for a purported Watchmen Saturday morning cartoon was genuine; I'm almost disappointed, in a strange way, to discover it isn't. Then again, I'll probably sleep better tonight knowing that Harry Partridge, the creator, simply has a twisted sense of humor, and that no one *really* greenlit this as a cartoon... (On a different note, one imagines the reactions if they showed this in front of the movie...)

Considering that Fox was honestly working on an animated Aliens series back in the very early Nineties, to tie in to the Kenner action figure line, I wouldn't have been surprised if someone hadn't tried. Evan Dorkin related back at about that time the number of studio executives trying to buy the movie or television rights to Milk & Cheese, and he had great fun demonstrating that those idiots were buying up rights to just about every comic around, without thought as to the context.
