Redesigns of the Harry Potter novels' covers, to make them look like classic Penguin editions. (I'm also seeing quite a bit of Saul Bass, too; also, Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows both creeped me out.)

(Also, artwork by Lebbeus Woods, for a version of Alien III that was never made. No, not the Gibson- scripted one (which you can find at Drew's Script-O-Rama.)

For that first link, check out the comments for the Spiderwick covers. :-)

(And check out the Lemony Snicket ones in general, as they're amazing.)

Ooh, those covers are fascinating. And yeah, the hands of the Inferi on the HBP cover are really well done and terrifying.

Ooooh, very nice stuff! I think I might have chosen something slightly different for book 7 (Dumbledore's tomb perhaps, a wand, or a shadowy robed figure?), but the existing one is lovely horrible.

And thank you for reminding me of this sort of art style, as it may be just what my brain needed for a graphics project.

You're quite welcome; this makes me sad that Saul Bass didn't do book covers.
