goodbye, Inky

Inky, the last of the three cats who lived in this apartment when I moved in, passed away yesterday. Boogie had taken him with her to Belgium; it was clear he was on his way out, and she wanted him with her at the end. He was my favorite of the three; an amiable, lazy beast, resignedly patient to kittens' attacks and being ousted from my favorite chair. I remember how he'd dash out the kitchen door whenever I opened it in the middle of the night, and how I joked that he was hoping he'd wind up in Narnia; perhaps he finally has.

Rest in peace, Commodore.
