- Night of 1,000 Stevies was a blast: twirling Stevies! Dancing Stevies!
roadnotes as a blond! The Stevie whose fake dove-adorned headdress projected full eight feet above the dance floor was a particular favorite. Roadnotes and I soon retired to a table, where the music was so loud, we were communicating by passing notes back and forth; it gave me a wonderful sense of nostalgia for my clubbing days.
- The University of California at Santa Barbara is running the Cylinder Preservation and Digitization Project, which includes digitized sound collected from wax cylinders going back to 1894. As
sclerotic_rings says, I love living in the future.
- Zombie LARP. Just what it sounds like; I’m so tempted.
- Has anyone out there heard about the movie The World’s Greatest Sinner? Directed by actor Timothy Carey- imagine Crispin Glover on steroids- and with a musical score by the then-22-year-old Frank Zappa, it’s... well, the above link, along with this Youtube clip, will tell you all you want to know (and probably more). I’ve been trying to see this for ages; if anyone knows how to obtain a copy, please let me know.
