Metropolitan/HP crossover

Ive been watching the charming Whit Stillman movie Metropolitan, and now I have a deep urge to rewrite it, with Harry Potter characters: Ron would be Tom, the redheaded, impecunious Fourierist; Neville would be the Chris Eigemann character, Nick Smith; Harry would be the glasses-wearing Taylor Nichols character who goes out with him to Southampton to "rescue" Audrey. Audrey, of course, would be Hermione (although I'll miss Carolyn Farina; she had a sweet Molly Ringwald-esque vibe. Whatever happened to her, by the way? Or to director Whit Stillman- has he done anything since Last Days of Disco...?); Draco would be Rick von Sloneker (I adore the way the actor who plays Rick greatly resembles the spiffed-up Brian O' Halloran of Mallrats, by the way.) Voldemort? Well, someone has to be throwing all those parties; unbeknownst to Ron and friends, they're actually Death Eaters recruitment parties...

(You know, it's probably a good thing I'm posting this on Super Bowl Sunday: plausible deniability and all.)

See, and this is where Descensus comes from. Just darker and my teen life (which Metropolitan sort of is, when it's not being entirely absurd).

Yeah, and teh charm of a vanishing age; if Stillman could keep a lid on the jokes, he could do an amazing Great Gatsby.
