Aug. 15th, 2007 02:59 pmCalTech graduate student Virgil Griffith built a search tool that traces IP addresses of those who make Wikipedia changes. One such change included deleting entire section critical of e-voting machine-vendor Diebold's machines from an article on the company- changes which came from an IP address reserved for the corporate offices of Diebold itself. (Wired magazine has a list of some of the most flagrant violations, available here.)
