Last night, I had a dream that I was spending several hours, setting up and shooting an eleaborate photograph of flowers. Next weekend, I hope to go to DC to see the cherry blossoms bloom (they're blooming earlier than in years past; yes, it's been informally speculated that global warming may be contributing to this). Then, sometime soon, I hope to make it up to the Cloisters, and perhaps out to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens (next door to one of my favorite museums) as well. Welcome, spring; glad you're here.

[livejournal.com profile] frost_knight and I thought you were coming next weekend. Actually we made plans to go to the eastern shore on Saturday night (reserved a B&B). We will leave around 4PM because we're not driving as far as Rock Hall this time. If you can call him and coordinate, we might be able to let you stay at our place while we are gone, assuming you arrive in the early afternoon.

That's very kind of you to offer; I apologize for the error in communication. Next weekend it shall be :)

This Saturday should be much better for cherry blossoms. A photo in today's Washington Post showed them blooming almost peak. There is also a kite festival on Saturday March 31 on the Mall, between the Monument and the Capitol. There will be rain on Sunday according to the forecast, and heavy rain later in the week, so next weekend they would be already fading.

Also, next Sunday we are going to my brother's house for Passover (his wife's family), so if you visited, we would be available only Saturday.

Like I said, we don't leave until 4PM tomorrow, so if you arrive early enough, we can hang out and then give you the key to our place.

Thanks you so much; that's wonderfully generous of you :)

In looking at the bus schedule, I'm reminded that it's a five-hour trip there; I'm not at all sure that I could be there in good time to meet you guys before you leave (especially since Ryan and Erika are having their joint birthday party tonight, which I promised to attend), so I think I'll take a rain check. However, I want to thank you both again- that's a lovely, lovely offer. Have a wonderful weekend!

DC's been having a hell of a spring, with eighty degrees one day and forty and hail the next. I hope the cherry trees are okay.

Ours bloomed ages ago, and the cherry blossom festival isn't for weeks yet.
