A question for one and all- what's the first album that you bought with your own money? (Mine was Thriller; I wanted to see what all the shouting was about.)

I have a strange nostalgic affection for tapes, although they were always a pain in the ass to rewind (and most of my college mix tapes sound as though they were recorded through cheesecloth at this point.) I'm glad someone made the differentiations betwene different media; I should've thought to ask that :)
