And now, I see there's going to be a Land of the Lost movie starring... Will Ferrell. I'd heard about this before, and hoped that this was some sort of scrambled rumor based on his Marshall Willandholly character from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, but apparently not.

Did you see the date on that post? Its from April 2005, so for all we know its already in production. Hmm..Will Ferrll though? Ugh. I'd hoped for somebody ... better.

...or more serious, anyway. I saw a post online that said, "This is being done by the guy who directed Anchorman. Cool- I liked that movie!" My immediate thought: Sleestak with toupees...?

(Anyway, IMDB lists it (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457400/) for a 2008 release- so yeah, they're probably shooting right about now.)

They also list it as "in development," though; usually, when a film is in pre-production, they list it as such and provide basic info like tentative cast. Sadly, many films sit "in development" for years and never get made (or, as with Superman Returns, get made with many changes from the initial announcement).

In other news, I feel vaguely guilty for thinking, "Wait... Sid and Marty Krofft are still alive?"
