Caught up with a friend last night, and had one of the better conversations I've had lately- the kind where you're both wincing as you smile, sharing pain and laughter, and you know the other person feels as you do.

...which happened as we were leaving. It was a true conflagration; the flames licked out of the front window as they usually only do in movies, and the entire street was saturated with the smell of smoke. Happily, there was no sign of injury; when I returned an hour or so later, the firefighters had things more or less under control.

No, and I couldn't get close enough to the building to get a good look-see, as they'd cordoned off the street; it looked to be a restaurant, though, so grease fire's my first guess.
