Quick version: Chris, Kimlee's husband, fell and needed emergency cranial surgery to remove a large hematoma. Like many of our bartending friends, Kimlee has no health insurance, and, if I heard correctly, Chris's insurance ran out earlier this year. So... they're doing a benefit for her. Per Michael and Alison:
Please join us for a very special event on Thursday, June 24, at 5:00pm, to benefit our good friends Kimlee Hicks and Chris Bergadano at Don't Tell Mama. For only $25 plus a two drink minimum, listen to the beautiful voices of some of theater's hottest stars of today such as Terri White, Kathy Kaefer, Lina Koutrakis & Michael Leon Wooley. Hosted by Michael Dionne & Jay Rogers.
If you can't make it, please send this to any/all of your friends who might like to join us!
If anyone wants to make a donation, but can't get to the benefit, I can collect money through my paypal account (Velma at deselbybowen dot com), and bring it.
For those of you trying to place her, who've come with us to Rose's Turn or The Stonewall Inn, Kimlee is the blonde woman with the amazing voice, who sings "Millworking" and "It's an Art." An amazing, big-hearted woman.
(I think the benefit is at 5:00 to allow Terrie White to perform, and then get back to the theater in time for her call for Chicago.)

WTF, art world?
Jun. 22nd, 2010 08:36 pmErr… so, an art group from Vienna knitted a pink bunny rabbit a couple of years ago.
A 200 foot tall pink bunny rabbit.
What’s more, they designed it to look like it had fallen from the sky ... complete with an open mouth and organs strewn to the side oO
Also, I see that art gallery owners in Poland are facing jail over a giant poster of a naked Minnie Mouse sprawled on a huge Nazi swastika. (potentially NSFW, need it be said.)
...yeah; so that happened.
