For one brain-frying moment, I thought that this mock intro for a purported Watchmen Saturday morning cartoon was genuine; I'm almost disappointed, in a strange way, to discover it isn't. Then again, I'll probably sleep better tonight knowing that Harry Partridge, the creator, simply has a twisted sense of humor, and that no one *really* greenlit this as a cartoon... (On a different note, one imagines the reactions if they showed this in front of the movie...)

This (since today seems to be "Link to Video Day"- what videos might *you* link to?) is a lovely and allusive commercial for the Chevy Malibu1. (The music is by Oren Lavie; it's called "Her Morning Elegance," from The Opposite Side of the Sea.)

1The Chevy Malibu, of course, is the car made famous by Repo Man, although that was a different year's model. Aliens not included.

I'm not always a huge lolcats fan, but I have a curiously strong urge to see this as a poster on the wall at piano bar.

We knew this day would come: Charles Schulz’s Peanuts, reimagined as a Frank Miller graphic novel, here and here.

Speaking of Charlie Brown: “On Friday night a blockhead died in New York”-Watchemen/Peanuts (and others) cross-pollination, this time.

And finally, Alan Moore’s guest appearance of sorts in Something*Positive. [livejournal.com profile] kobold, you’re a twisted human being.
