roadnotes and elisem, singing in the piano bar space above Stonewall. Elise is a lovely, genial person, every bit as much as you'd hope for such a talented artist to be; she also rocks a mean version of "Skylark." For my part, I did "Desperado" (transposed down to E; when I'm not suffering stage fright, my singing voice goes much lower), and "When Doves Cry"- easily the first time I've sung a Prince sung in front of people (all six or so of us who were there, including piano player and waitstaff), ever. (I would've had a bash at "Nothing Compares 2 U", also; alas, they didn't have the lyrics.)
