Feb. 26th, 2007 01:11 pmCongratulations to Martin Scorsese; it was long overdue. (And my sympathies to Peter O' Toole, who now was eight nominations without a win; however, 1) Forest Whitaker was amazing, and 2) when I grouchily looked up the identity of the actor to whom O' Toole lost the year of Lawrence of Arabia, I saw that he lost to Gregory Peck, for To Kill a Mockingbird. So, that's all right, at least. (I'm vaguely curious to see who won the year of The Lion in Winter; I'm held back from checking by a dread of discovering that that was the year that John Wayne won for True Grit, or some other such horror.)
