And now, back to programming my phone book...

Ran into a part of my past from NYCgoth (Tiamat, for those who knew her) this afternoon, at the Union Square B&N. The suddenness with which she'd faded into the woodwork the first time around lent the whole (brief) conversation an air of dislocation which actually wasn't unwelcome- sped the conversation right along. She's married; she's doing well; raah.

Meanwhile:
Didn't get to sleep until almost six this morning, although I was home by about 2:30. gaah. Did- rather to my own astonishment- mana ge to reach the voice lessons teacher; I was having such problems with the number, I'd been beginning to suspect I was having some strange sort of mental block about the whole thing (singing anxiety- not impossible. Happily, now solved- which is making me want to leap on the next 17 problems in my life and tackle them, while the blood is hot. May just do that.)

Particularly raucous night at piano bar last night, with guest appearances by redbird, lawnrrd, as well as fangorn, fimbrethil, and someone whose name I didn't catch. Very nice folks. All sorts of silliness, an excellent antidote to the week so far. Raah. .s

And I'll just BET I forgot to lock my door today...

friend (8:06:02 PM): Are you home?
me (8:06:09 PM): at work; not yet hooked up at home
friend (8:06:15 PM): Did you talk to Luis?
me (8:06:35 PM): You got some different-looking thing from Al Hatem; I'll bring it on monday. No; haven't seen Luis.
friend (8:07:08 PM): I just talked to Luis about a minute and ten seconds ago, he says the apartment was broken into, and people's bedroom doors busted open.
me (8:07:22 PM): WHAT???
friend (8:07:26 PM): He says someone ripped the security bars right off the wall.
me (8:07:35 PM): WHAT?????????
friend (8:08:01 PM): Um, that.
me (8:08:21 PM): Ye gods
friend (8:08:42 PM): He told me that nothing of his was missing as far as he could tell, but he doesn't knwo about other people's stuff
me (8:08:59 PM): fuck- did they get into everyone's room?
friend (8:09:16 PM): He didn't tell me if all of the doors were broken open


Get back to the office, supervisor- this is really really REALLY not something I want to leave hanging for several hours.>
