What music was most prominent in your parents' record collections?
-I don't remember mom ever listening to music when I was growing up; Dad (who's 76 now) had a collection of old swing music: Glenn Miller; Benny Goodman; Artie Shaw.
What was your mother's favorite? Father's?
These days, Mom enjoys classical (and even John Denver!); Dad's collection is much the same as it was, albeit on CD now :)
Do you still listen to the things that they subjected you to?
Meh- Both my swing & classical collections have been victims of severe attrition over the years (as has my music collection in general); must get back to it. Just got a Glenn Miller compilation, and am astonished at how "Moonlight Serenade" takes me home, double-edged sword that that may be.
Have you turned them on to any of your music? "Okay, Dad... this one is called Who's Next, and it... well, yes, it IS about as loud as the Zeppelin was... Dad? Dad?"
