This day, again

This is my second 9/11 away from NYC; my first where I spent the whole day away, and am no longer a resident. I could write about walking into our living room, and seeing my apartment mate watching the news, but I've done that before. Instead, an image from a hostel in Chicago where I stayed in September of '09; I took this just before I flew home, on September 11th; I thought about it all the way home.

There's a similar sign outside a church in our neighborhood. It always makes my heart a bit lighter when I see it. It is strange to be away from NYC on this day, although I'm sure it's equally strange in different ways to be in NYC.
