Sep. 17th, 2012 09:16 pmFor the last year or so, I've been walking by a... it's not quite storefront; more like a storage room that happens to have glass fronting. At any rate, I walk by this room-of-indeterminate-purpose every day; while most of the stuff in it is random junk (including a Chucky doll- promo for the Bride of Chucky movie, or one of its ilk), there was also a pristine hardcover copy of Prisoner of Azkaban (my own favorite among the Harry Potter novels) sitting there. I felt a bit sorry for it, sitting in that room, never being read, just...sitting there for no reason. However, last Sunday, when I was walking back from filing the incident report from the assault (I'm inclined to agree with my apartment mate, who thinks that with my black hat and coat, I may just have been taken for a Chassidic Jew, of whom there are many in this neighborhood)...the room was open, and a man had a table out, and was selling various bits of detritus from the collection. Although the book wasn't out on the table, a hastily-made offer convinced him otherwise... and now I've reread what I always found to be the most purely entertaining novel of the series, for the first time since reading the whole shebang for my fic, back around 2005 ^_^
