My dear friend Dusti writes: "A perfect storm of woe has resulted in me and mine having our power turned off and an eviction being very possible in our too-near future.

"I really don't want to ask for help, but I'm out of short term options. The requested amount is to help us get our rent paid up and our power back on. The need is pretty immediate. Anyone that contributes will receive our most heartfelt gratitude, and we will commit to repaying donated amounts."

FYI, One resource for help with heating bills is LIHEAP: here is the link for Michigan's program. It's a one-time grant, but it kept my gas on during one winter (and well into spring).
