So. They're taking a design based on so-far fictional warp and impulse engines, with artificial gravity, and trying to implement it using real-world fission reactors, ion engines, and spin gravity. Apparently just for the publicity value, when a ship station designed from the keel up with those technologies in mind would be cheaper and more efficient.
Considering what NASA did with the last spacecraft named Enterprise, I'm somewhat skeptical.
