Broadway walk

I'm in the middle of walking down the length of Manhattan Island. I started around 231st; right now, I'm down to 153rd; as always when I do this, it's a great way to take my mind off my troubles (except for sore feet...) Great to see so much of the city :)

That was one of my favourite weekend things to do when I lived there. It was a wonderful way to escape and explore, as you say. Enjoy yourself!

That's got to be amazing people-watching. And the food options are probably good, right? Now I want to do the same walk.

It takes about 150 blocks for the real food options to start (which is to say, south of Lincoln Center); my favorite place is a diner-type restaurant on Broadway and 9th. Great way to work up an appetite!

And about how long do those first 150 blocks take to walk? I once figured out that a standard Portlsnd block (we have short blocks) took me about 45-50 seconds to walk if I'm walking with a purpose. Again, I know New York's blocks tend to be longer, especially (if I remember correctly) east-west streets.
