Dear David Tennant- was the only reason (other than the paycheck) that you made Fright Night the opportunity it gave you to repeatedly tug at your leather pants-covered crotch in full view of camera? (Not that I'm necessarily complaining; also, you do a wicked pisstake on Criss Angel :D)

Coyote: "I'm... not sure if that's an argument in favor of watching _Fright Night_ or not."
Fox: "I think it's an argument in favor of looking for the good bits on YouTube."

Like Fey already says: Is this a recommendation for Fright Night, or not?

Even if it isn't, the idea of David Tennant in tight leather pants soudns.... intriguing.

A lot would depend on 1) Your tolerance for gory horror movies, and 2) your tolerance for ABSURD gory horror movies. The Tennant factor IS a definite plus, though.

Does a liking for the original movie factor in at all?

Hmm; it's an affectionate homage of sorts, but NOT really the same sort of movie- the first two acts of the original are pretty much over with in the first 20 minutes of this.

I enjoyed the heck out of the new Fright Night, though I really need to rewatch it in order to pick it apart properly.

And man, I hope Tennant was in on the joke in terms of the overall thing. I like to think he seems like the sort of actor who would be. Also, though, he's from the BBC well. Beeb actors take lots of roles that fall into the questionable column because they're actors who like to work...
