Fucking MORON
Jul. 5th, 2011 05:36 pmMy apartment mate was out of town for the 4th; after my other apartment mate and I both indicated that we couldn't take care of his cat Tommi (the blert! cat)- who's 16, and battling cancer- he left her in his room (which none of us have the key to), and left on vacation with his girlfriend. A couple of days later, when I came back from an overnight stay, she was meowing loudly- a distress meow- and my apartment mate wasn't answering his cell phone: he was supposed to have been home that night. After about an hour's struggle, Boogie (apartment mate #3) and I were able to get into his room; we rigged an impromptu litter box in the kitchen (which Tommi hates- she's scared of the other cats), and fed and watered her. (I timed it: when we put a water bowl in front of her, she drank for three minutes straight.)
Z came home this afternoon, with some flip remark about thanking me for taking care of the cat; at least he gave me a key to his room, so that this- we hope- doesn't happen again.
"Next time, she'll probably be dead when you come home," I said. He went into some song and dance about how he'd been gone for equivalent lengths of time before, and she'd been OK (although I doubt that that was in the full heat of summer- his room has no AC- not to mention that she needs medication that was locked in his room) and and and... Long story short, he hadn't wanted to come home earlier. It's bizarre: he dotes and her, and has spent thousands of dollars on her medical care... and then he does this.
"Next time, just fucking have her put to sleep," I snarled; it's been years since I've been so close to punching someone. I'm going to take a long bike ride; I don't want to be around people right now.

Date: 2011-07-06 05:21 am (UTC)That is some shit and a half.
Don't be so hard on yourself. Z could defend himself against your punch, the cat couldn't defend herself against his crapitude.

Fucking assholes man. I really want to punch Z (not Tommi! Whoops).

Some people shouldn't be allowed to exist, let alone own pets.
You were justified in wanting to punch him. He just blithely tortured an animal.

Date: 2011-07-07 01:52 pm (UTC)I can't tell you how many times that I've wished I could have taken Tommi home with me when we broke up. Sadly I'm in no position to take her now. She's such a sweetheart too. Z is so not good in the responsibility dept. I'm glad you read him the riot act.
