So, for the last week or so, I've had a bad, nagging cough. This afternoon, I was coughing... and there was a tinge of blood in it. I just notified my supervisor at work (because, what if this is, gods forfend, something contagious); had a rather urgent call to my doctor, resulting in an appointment tomorrow afternoon; am currently trying to get my brain to calm the fuck down. Probably just a slightly ruptured/torn whateverthefuck from the apocalyptic coughing of the last few days, but still.

It's good that you're going to the doc, but it's probably just that your throat is irritated and raw from the coughing.

Yes, calm down. :) You have an appointment so if there is something wrong, you will get treated quickly. And as an anecdote, I know that when I'm coughing a lot I'll frequently get a little bit of blood coughed up just for the same reason as you mention - it must be hard on the airways and stuff and they get irritated and bleed a little bit. You only said tinge of blood, so until your doctor says otherwise, I'm going to not freak out on your behalf.

I agree with the others. It's probably from your throat. When I get colds, my throat gets scratched up from all the coughing. Still, seeing the doctor is a good thing. Keep us updated!

Good; i'm glad you got to the doctor. The Thing whot Sits wouldn't go away until i started taking antibiotics, and am pretty sure it would have developed into full-blown bronchitis without them. Better sooner than later!

ARGH! me-no-likey. -hugs- i'm sure it's just from coughing too hard. that's happened to a couple of people i know. they freaked out about it, too... but it turned out to be nothing serious. so, yes. i hope you feel better soon coyote-san. -HUGHUGHUG-
