Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining Buffy the Vampire Slayer and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
The story should use trying out for a sports team as a plot device!

Now I'm imagining Jack Nicholson as a vampire; eerily plausible, that...

I don't know if Buffy was ever a cheerleader in TV-verse, but I seem to recall she was one in the movie - so this could work in a warped kind of way...

Indeed she was (Season 1). Her cheerleading outfit then made a significant appearance late in the show thanks to Dawn...

That generator may like you better than it likes me.

(I quite like that prompt - OTOH, I now have a policeman poised on the cusp of a decision and a TBC niggle at the back of my mind...

And my books are in storage and it's years since I read "Cuckoo's Nest". Did the Nurse from Hell ever have a name?)

Buffy: (internal monologue about how everyone is a vampire, lying in hospital bed)
Giles: (sings "Does The Spearmint Lose Its Flavor")

Nurse Vampire: informs the patients that they must now play sports as part of therapy. Orderlies-vamps throw dodgeballs cruelly at patients.

Giles: forges successful dodgeball team based around Buffy's abilities, inspires other crazies to succeed, demands they go on tour/field trip

Nurse Vampire and orderly vamps: eat Giles

Buffy: breaks out of the asylum, inspiring others to get out too

I read "Cuckoo's Nest" in high school.

I did not know that that song *really existed* until a week or two ago.

When I saw it being sung on THE MUPPET SHOW.

SAN loss.

Buffy actually did have an episode where she awakens in a mental institution. So... not so strange?
