The Steve Perry situation: a resolution

At this point, it's gotten to the point where unless the ZH PD contact me about forwarding the emails, or some truly bizarre new incident happens, I'm going to simply close the door in my head re. this situation; there's nothing more to be done from this end, and that's all there is to it.

Well, he's been murdered, his roomies are in custody, and I think you've done all that you can here. It sucks that it's turned out this way. *hugs and much love*

*hugs and much love back* True, all around.

Oh Fred. I don't know how you know Steven or are involved with this situation, but my condolences to you. It's a horrifying story, and is making me rather emotional here at work. Love to you.

I started PayPaling him money every now and again after I'd heard how bad his situation was; he started sending me status update emails, including a couple that detailed some confrontational interactions he was having with people close to him. When I heard he'd disappeared, I contacted the cops in his home town, offering to forward the emails; no response.

(Also, Days of Future Past icon!)

Wow. That is terrible. Seems like he was having so much trouble getting his life back on track. Very sad.

Re: Icon
Yes! I love Days of Future Past immensely, and it also just happens to contain the moment where my two favorite X-Men become friends. That's the moment in the icon: when Kitty wakes up and is so happy to see that Kurt is alive that she touches him. I love that the story up to that point had the guts to portray a new character like Kitty as being a bit prejudiced herself. She just can't get past the Demon-like qualities of Nightcrawler. I love all of her thought balloons about her struggle with her own bigotry. Also love how the narrative unfolded: that the desolate future she experienced gave her the light-switch moment shown in this panel. I cried many times reading (and re-reading) the series.

Also you earned like 500 gold stars in my book for knowing the source of said icon :) :)

Yup, yup- when Rachel had done the psychic thingiela to project her consciousness into the past, into Kitty! Very, very nice touch to have Kitty be somewhat prejudiced, as well (IIRC, she had to deal with moments of anti-Semitism (as well, of course, as anti-mutant sentiment) more than once in the comics). I had a subscription back then; man, I miss the Claremont/Byrne team...

It's really agonizing, not knowing what the hell happened.

Fire up the teleportation machine and come have some pie. Or just think of pie.

Pie! I had some very nice apple pie with a slice of melted cheese on top a while ago.
