Me, standing in front of the boat used in Peter Jackson's King Kong.

The front gate sign for the Weta Cave (a combination gift shop/museum, which surprised me greatly by being open on Good Friday.)

A statue of Gollum from the Cave; this photo doesn't do justice to the skin textures, which were *amazing*.

Park Road Post, where Peter Jackson does some of the post-production work on his films; it's a lovely building, that looks as though it had been designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

By contrast, this building, where they do a lot of the SFX work, looks exactly like what it is- an old warehouse.

The upstairs lounge at the Embassy Theater (where the world premiere of Return of the King was held); yes, that's a piano.

Detail from the men's room door. Seriously, the Embassy is a palace.

I forget the proper name for these, but the Embassy has a scenic hole in the ceiling, from which you can look down and see the stairs. The only other building I ever saw with one of these was Kykuit, the Rockefeller family estate.

Most of the Embassy's seats have dedication tags, including at least one in Elvish, although that photo didn't come out, despite several tries. Yes, I sat in the Frodo chair.
