Two random factoids I've learned recently which delighted me:
1) Wes Craven got the name "Elm Street" from the Elm Street in Potsdam, the small town in rural northern New York in which I grew up (Craven spent four years there as a professor of Humanities).
2) According to one of my coworkers, his friend's wife's maid of honor was Cory Doctorow. (No hot-air balloons were involved.)
