Pictures from San Francisco

The late, lamented Red Vic movie house. Seeing Lost in Translation here is a treasured memory of my first San Francisco visit.

The bathroom wall at Orphan Andy's, a favorite San Francisco/Castro eatery for me.

Speaking of Orphan Andy's, this hangs from the ceiling there; I like to call him "Jack".

Wise words at any time.

San Franciscans seem to have the habit of painting goldfish at intervals on the sidewalks. I approve of this.

The intrepid crew- with guest Rezendi- meet at the Peace Pagoda for dinner. (Sadly, I missed karaoke afterward, as I had to re-check in at my hotel.)

This sums up a certain aspect of the Haight for me...

...as does this.

Speaking of the Haight, this was in my bedroom at the Red Victorian (hotel, not movie theater). Do I sense a pattern?

K. takes a photo of an old friend, the Transamerica pyramid.

Grace cathedral.

Me with my friend Jeffrey, in town to show his film Vito.

Jeffrey, in front of the Castro theater marquee for his film.

A photo of me with Phil Harrison (another film school friend), the film's editor. (I had more pictures taken of me on this trip than are usually taken in a given year.)

Compositionally, my favorite photo of the trip.

Always good advice.

The Golden Gate bridge. Sadly, this is as close as I got on this trip. Next time...

Hey, why didn't you mention that your film school friends are total hotties? *g*
