Rocketman

Rocketman is the movie Bohemian Rhapsody lacked the courage to be, including some welcomely explicit references to his sexuality (there's a rather hot sex scene between him and a man; when asked why his brief marriage to a woman was unhappy, John answers bluntly, "I'm gay.") There are songs at least the equal of Rhapsody's; Dexter Fletcher's direction wisely emphasizes fantasy over plodding biopic literal-mindedness; Taron Egerton (and Jamie Bell as Bernie Taupin) carry the movie, with able support from the rest of the cast, including Richard Madden, who looks amusingly like Jagger in the "Memo From Turner" section of Performance. Strongly recommend.
