Scenes from a Berkeley life, #208:
1) While wandering home, I find myself thinking upon Harlan Ellison, the writer who has influenced my writing more than any other; along with this, I find myself thinking of a writer of my acquaintance who has written excellent recent pieces on Ellison and his work.
2) Realize that the guy walking past me while carrying a jug of milk is, in fact, said writer of the Ellison pieces; congratulate him on same (but forget to wish him a happy birthday).
