Merry Christmas, y'all.

As with last year, I'm in California for the holidays. The family and I will be catching up at a slightly less logistically overwhelming time of year; we're all pretty much OK with this. I'm still processing the lessons this move has taught me- about how it's sometimes necessary to reduce your life to its most basic assumptions, and to start over from zero. I'm learning, though, and am working my way towards happiness.

To a lovely bacon-themed Xmas party this morning; out to the ocean to watch the waves afternoon (crowded for the time of year and the day: at least 50 people); now, home, listening to Ryuichi Sakamoto. Thinking of my family; thinking of my friends; thinking of this new life I have chosen for myself.
