The legal battle between Warner Bros. and the estates of Superman creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster over the copyright to the Man of Steel has been raging for more than a decade, and the bad blood behind it has been boiling for much, much longer. It often looks like there's no end in sight for this clash,
but now Warner Bros. is taking steps to win the fight, once and for all. (If memory serves, it was artist Shuster, who, in his later years, worked as a messenger. Supposedly, he once delivered a package to the DC offices; one imagines him looking around at memorabilia of his billion-dollar brainchild (for which he and writer Siegel received $130, which they split). As the story goes, someone at the office recognized him, awkwardly handed him a $20 tip- then allegedly called the messenger company and asked them not to send that messenger to the offices anymore.)
