Geekgasm alert- fanart by one Dusty Abell that includes an astonishing number of TV superhero/SF characters from the '70s. There are a few shows I would've liked to have seen represented- Space Academy; Ark II; Thundarr the Barbarian1- but this is amazing.

1Did you know that Robert Ridgely- who played the Colonel in Boogie Nights- did the voice of Thundarr (or that Jack Kirby did design work for the show)? Lords of light!

This weekend, I plan to see Logan and Noah Miller’s Touching Home at the Village East Cinema (12th and 2nd in Manhattan). The subject of the moviemaking memoir Either You’re In Or You’re In The Way, Touching Homeis an autobiographical film about a father (played by Ed Harris) struggling to make amends with his twin sons (played by the Miller brothers themselves) as they pursue their dreams of professional baseball. The movie itself has gotten excellent advance press; also, Either You’re In Or You’re In the Way is an excellent filmmaking memoir, detailing how—without a dime to their names nor a single meaningful contact in Hollywood—the Miller brothers managed to write, produce, act in, and direct a feature film in under a year. I’m not generally much for sports movies (classics such as the original Bad News Bears aside), but I’m looking forward to this.

No proposition with a movie should ever, ever begin with "Say," (as in, "Say, why don't we head back to my place, and see if we can still dance the Centipede?") unless it's being delivered by Cary Grant. (Now, Cary Grant dancing the Centipede- that's a movie.)
