A few months back I linked to the case of Janice Langbehn, who was denied the right by Florida doctors of seeing her dying partner in the hospital. Two days ago, she got a call apologizing for the way that situation had been handled... from President Obama. This may not be the future I signed up for, but it does have its surprisingly human moments, all the same (although the hospital and the doctors responsible have yet to apologize).
