Apr. 7th, 2010 02:48 pmOn rewatching Forgotten Silver, the Peter Jackson/Costa Botes mockumentary about a fictional New Zealand film pioneer, I was amused to see several performers (other than Jackson himself, of course) who later went on to roles in other Jackson films. Thomas Robins, who plays Colin McKenzie, went on to play Deagol in Return of the King; Sarah McLeod, who plays May Belle (the actress who plays Salome for McKenzie), went on to play Rosie Cotton in the first and third Rings films; and Peter Corrigan, who portrayed “Stan the Man,” went on to play Otho Sackville-Baggins in the extended version of Fellowship. What’s more- apologies if I've mentioned this previously- the whole business of explorers discovering the abandoned city that McKenzie built were partially based on fact- De Mille’s abandoned sets for Karnak, built for his 1922 silent version of The 10 Commandments, were later re-discovered by archaeologists.
