Soren update
Jan. 25th, 2010 02:05 pmSomething I've been meaning to post about: recently, through the good graces of a friend I found myself attending a party held by the Nielsen Haydens (the people behind the Making Light blog, and many other such shiny things). This isn't about my incidental socializing, however; the point of the story is that Soren was also there; at one point, he and Patrick Nielsen Hayden were discussing a point of science fiction trivia- something to do with the story "A Transatlantic Tunnel, Hurrah!" and whether or not it had been published under thus and such a title in this or that country, or some such. I was listening with half an ear as they debated the point, and finally decided to consult The Book...
...and Soren was right. A minor thing, perhaps, but to see him out-trivia one of the leading lights of the SF field, even for a moment... it's not as though everything is better, but for just a moment, the clouds broke, and the sun shone through. That's all.
