New Zealand (last photo post)

My last day in New Zealand, I woke up early at the hostel in Auckland, had breakfast, and decided how to spend my last hours; I went to see the One Tree Hill monument (as referenced in the U2 song), before heading to the airport. Known as Maungakiekie to the Maori, One Tree Hill is situated in Campbell Park, somewhat on the outskirts of Auckland. It has a history more complicated than I have time to summarize here- but it seemed a fitting choice with which to say goodbye to that magical land.
