If anyone would like a postcard from New Zealand, speak now- with address mentioned in comments (please don’t assume I have it), or forever hold your peace :) (Comments screened.)

Also- having ordered a camera with a bazillion features and gimmicks, and having had it fail to arrive in timely fashion, I may wind up using the same camera that’s been to Greece and Australia (although I’ve been to neither one). Twice now, said camera has gone totally nonfunctional, and then come back from the dead; clearly, this is the Lazaruscam.

Back in the '70s, comic book grandmaster artist Jack "King" Kirby did a version of The Prisoner that was never officially released. While never fully completed -- some parts aren't inked, others have scrawled-in dialogue -- it’s a fascinating piece of work.

I pick you up at the Te Papa Museum at 9 AM
We go to Miramar
I drive us past various Weta locations
We have brunch at a Weta-employee hangout
We go past the Park Road Post production location
We go to the Weta Cave (40 minutes usually does it)
I take you on another drive past one of Peter Jackson's houses
We strike out for the Hutt Valley and go to Stansborough Weavers (don't know how much time you want to spend here - 20 minutes usually does it)
We go to Kaitoke for a look around and a gentle hike (1 hour there, about 30 - 40 mins from Wellington to get there)
If we're not totally dead, perhaps we go to Pukerua Bay (site of Peter Jackson's childhood home)

...followed by 1) I thank my generous host by buying dinner, and 2) *collapse*! (Mind you, this is just the kind of vacation I like- if you're going to see a country, *see* it! Too, I was worried about putting weight, given the NZ cuisine; I suspect that I'll walk it all off, however.)
