Jury duty, day 2. Exhausted. Tempted to do both Yuletide *and* NaNoWriMo now, gods help us all.

Nightmare on Elm Street is showing this Saturday, November 1, at midnight at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema on Houston between 1st and 2nd; anyone who wants to is more than welcome to meet up with me there (look for the guy in the black hat).

Free, free from the Bus Station of the DamnedTM for another eight years! I feel so civic, so dutiful!

(also: I'm probably more amused than I need to be at having created, for a writing project, the band name "Pink Freud.")

David Tennant has announced that he will leave the award winning BBC drama Doctor Who when he has completed the filming of four special episodes which will be screened in 2009 and early in 2010.

I am officially D: at this news, even having only seen brief YouTube-d glimpses of him in the part; time for a change of subject. Hmm- who’s your own choice for Next Doctor? Mine: Richard E. Grant (who rocked the role in a brief cameo in Curse of the Fatal Death.)

Sam Mendes to make movie of Garth Ennis’s Preacher. HELLO.

Meanwhile, Mike Nichols is remaking High and Low. I... huh. Scorsese was going to do this at one point; for some reason, I think Stephen Frears would’ve been well-suited for it; however, Nichols has been on a roll since Angels in America. We’ll see.
