Growing evidence shows that surgery may effectively cure Type 2 diabetes — an approach that not only may change the way the disease is treated, but that introduces a new way of thinking about diabetes. (And if that doesn't work, there's always gila monsters.)

Also, gratuitous picture of an owl.

Also also- sounds as though Comic Con is already making with the crazy; however, I promised Z. I’d bring him his package, and there are people I want to see who will be there, so off I go. (Besides, I missed Arisia- what meanie schedules a con that close after New Year’s?), and Lunacon, and I-con; had hoped to visit more conventions this year, so there it is, then.

Have survived Comic Con (and thereby used up the day's worth of spoons in one fell swoop), and seen many wonderful people in the process: yay! Had a panic attack shortly after leaving Comic Con due to all the crowds ever- boo! Home, to assemble bookshelves, so that I no longer risk the fate which met the Collyer brothers, due to towering stacks of books- w00t! Also, the kittens (Europa, Io, Callisto, and Ganymede) have just reached the stage of being somewhat comfortable on their paws; as soon as I open my roommate's door, they swarm upon me like small, furry, adorable killer bees.

(Also, note to [livejournal.com profile] sclerotic_rings: Thanks for letting me know about Wendy Pini's Elric project, Law and Chaos- I have it now, and the artwork is incredible.)(And an undoubtable visual source for willowy, ash-blond Cutter, and his more grounded friend, Skywise.)

(Also, really must check out Torchwood sometime.)
