Mar. 11th, 2008 03:21 pmI rarely feel the need to share the wackier side of my subconscious with you all, but this dream was so wacked out, I *had* to share:
In the dream, my friends
feyandstrange and
digitalsidhe were visiting New York City, as was fellow NYCgoth alumnus
kobold, better known as the twisted genius behind Something*Positive. We were having a weekend brunch at the Plaza (does the Plaza even have those anymore? Alas, I doubt it), and preparing for some sort of costume ball (Lunacon related?). I don't remember what the rest of us were wearing, but in the dream, we were trying to convince Fey- an attractive redhead- that she should go as Dark Phoenix. While I strongly doubt that this is the case in real life, Fey had never heard of the Dark Phoenix saga, so we were attempting to explain; Randy was providing a visual aid in the form of an S*P version of this image, with Aubrey as Dark Phoenix and the other S*P characters as the X-Men (and I was wondering what Marvel's lawyers would think if they could see this), when I woke up.
In the dream, my friends

Mar. 11th, 2008 03:40 pmI just found out that Dave Stevens, creator of The Rocketeer, has passed away of leukemia, at the age of 52. This is jarring- not least, because that movie just arrived in the mail, and I just watched it today (before I'd heard the news), for the first time in over ten years. It's an odd, doubled feeling; I feel sad for the loss, and at the same time, coincidences such as that make me feel extremely uneasy.
