"Remus Lupin: the Wilderness Years"
Nov. 21st, 2007 11:43 amFirst: apologies if the constant stream of crack!fic of late isn't really your thing; I've just finished several weeks' worth of double shifts, and my brain is the flibberty-jibbety right now. Well, at least I tend to either keep them brief, or use cut tags.
Second: That having been said, today's crack!fic notion arose when I rewatched The Big Lebowski, and realized that it was set in 1991. Why is this important? Because in one scene, the Dude goes to the studio of a woman named Maude, where he meets an indescribable Eurocreature named Knox Harrington (he can be glimpsed in this YouTube video). Why is that important? Because Knox Harrington is played by David Thewlis, who plays Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter movies. Did Remus's peripatetic life between concluding his studies at Hogwarts and returning there as a teacher lead him to Southern California under an assumed name at one point, and an odd encounter with a stoner named Jeff Lebowski? (For bonus points, work in this photograph as well.)
