Apparently, Heath Ledger has joined the cast of Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. I find this encouraging; not only was Ledger good in The Brothers Grimm, but his participation means that this movie (Gilliam's first based on an original script of his since The Adventures of Baron Munchausen) is one step closer to actually getting made. (I still remember his hitting the streets of New York to promote Tideland; I wonder how Good Omens is coming along?)

Also, article of the day: Meryl Streep Wins Preemptive Oscar as Julia Child (I like this largely for the photo of Child holding the fish- what the hell is that, a muskellunge?)
