Aug. 19th, 2007 05:26 pmI've just come home from a 30-or-so-mile bike ride in New Jersey, thanks to an invite from
beeeej; I had an amazing time. After biking up to Penn Station in the predawn light, we met up, and rode the train out to the meeting site (and met two very sweet British cycling enthusiasts along the way, who turned out to be part of our group.) The ride itself was lovely, albeit somewhat shorter and slower than we'd expected; we wound up at the Sandy Hook penninsula, near Fort Hancock. (While riding along one particularly sandy section of trail, I saw cacti; they may have been prickly pears, but I couldn't be certain. Still, cacti. Growing wild in New Jersey.) Home (we managed to miss most of the rain) on the ferry, with a lovely view of the Verrazano Bridge (I wish they had a cycling lane!), and Manhattan; now, to bed.
