more bullets!
Aug. 14th, 2005 03:46 pm- Well, I have a job, at least for the moment; I'm working out of an ad agency down on Varick. Getting up at 6 AM has taken a bit of getting re-used to, after months in which I was usually falling asleep just about then, but it's all good. (And yeah- this means no Pennsic, which sucks; it's a bloody job, though. I paid everyone all the Pennsic-related debts I incurred; there's always next year.) I worked two days last week, and pulled down about as much as I was making on unemployment; the workload isn't crazed, but they favor long hours, which is a point in my favor; lots of freelancers don't like to stay past a certain time. Woo, paying off bills! Woo, having computer access so that I may go back to write entries about one day, rather than cramming in bullet points all the time!
- Thunder is currently echoing through the skies, apparently making up its mind about whether or not it's actually going to, umm, rain for once, just simply continue thundering and, err, lightninging. It makes me think of the days in my rural youth when I used to shoot guns; it also makes me think of the Fawlty Towers episode "The Germans"- but that's another story.
- Apparently, they're shooting some sort of zombie movie on our block- not a big studio flick; more student-film sized. I suppose it says something about my misspent youth at film school that my first reaction to see half-a-dozen people dressed in tatters and streaked with fake gore is one of intense nostalgia; for one mad moment, I thought of asking if they needed a PA.
...and so much for that. Many thanks to the Milk and Cookies group for their hospitality (I'd forgotten how much fun the beginning of The Hobbit is to read aloud), and to the Legitimate Theater, for a fun time Friday evening. S'alright? S'alright.
ETA: You wanted to read Sirius Black/George W. Bush crossover fic, didn't you? Of course you did.
