three quick things
Jun. 15th, 2005 03:16 pm-My digital camera seems to have acquired the knack of traveling around the world without me, courtesy of
rm and now
patashoqua; when it comes home, I'm having a firm talk with it about the dispensation of any accrued frequent flier miles. It's been more than six months since I traveled farther than DC (ahh, Florida...*sigh*); while I'm catching up on my reading to no small degree *reaches for the just-started Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell*, and have even cleaned my room (no, really- there's floor! In plain sight!), I'm getting restless.
-Slightly belatedly, on this hot day: I can't remember any foodstuff in my entire life tasting better to me than the first cold post-fast shavings of Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream, slowly melting across my tongue. If nothing else (and there were other benefits), it would have all been worth it, just for that one sublime moment.
-Much as I loves me Tim Burton's Gotham, my inner geek is positively tap-dancingly giddy with anticipation for Batman Begins. Christian Bale starring in a Batman movie- and it's about Batman! (Okay, I kid; Tim, you're still The Man, even if your trailers for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory- a movie I've been saying you should make since high school- leave me with a vague sort of unease. Sort of a "We're working so hard to make our own version of this, that we don't care if the characters get bent out of shape in the process" feeling, if you get my drift. Still, Big Fish was wonderful as a Great Big Wonderful Thing, so I remain hopeful. It's all you, Tim.)
